Is a New Home on your New Year Resolution List?

With Santa loading up his sleigh and the New Year around the corner is purchasing Real Estate a good idea?

It amazing to me that Winter is in full swing and homes are still closing at a good rate. Typically the Puyallup market starts to come to a screeching halt in November and doesn’t pick back up till sometime in mid-February. But the Seattle times reported that pending home sales were up in November by 3% over last year. That is significant for the surrounding areas. Puyallup still remains one of the best priced areas for families and first time home buyers. We have many short sale and bank owned properties as well as seller owned properties on the market at affordable prices.

What does that mean for the coming year?

With interest rates still in the 4’s and low 5’s this could be a very good year to buy your first home or move up to your dream home. Inventory typically gets lower at this time of year so if you haven’t seen the home you must have don’t get discouraged. Many sellers have removed their homes from the market for the Holiday season and are poised to get back on the market at the first of the year.

If you are thinking of a home purchase after the first of the year now is a great time to obtain that pre approval. If you need help with that contact your lender or give Kandi Renard a call you will find her under the mortgage section of my website.

And if you need help finding that perfect home contact me.
